Gum or candy should be sugar-free, as you want to avoid weight gain where possible and prevent rotting your teeth! Keeping snacks at hand will make it easier when cravings hit, to take something else as a substitute.

3. Find a hobby or pastime you can do to keep your hands busy. Most smokers say apart from the addiction to nicotine, they find themselves reaching for cigarettes when they have idle hands; so keep those hands busy! At the workplace nowadays no one can smoke, so there’s a start to your quit smoking plan, but in your leisure time or on breaks is where the fun begins! Anything which keeps your hands busy and your mind occupied will help immensely. Try a handheld video game, a manual dexterity puzzle, sketching, doodling, knitting, crossword puzzles, or writing, are good. Best of all, keep a diary or journal; writing each day about your trials and successes will not only keep your hands and mind busy, but keeping a record will give you something to refer to for encouragement.

remedies to cure snoring?

Please help my husband is keeping us all awake. None of the nose strips or gargles work. Short of smothering him I dont know what else to try. Any help out there.

The only remedy I know to stop your husband from snoring is to stop him breathing as well. (but that would by too radical, if you do love him).
Few of my friends are very happy with those overnight air mask. They can make them really small and lite lately. (CPAP)

How can I help my husband stop snoring?

I am so tired of being woken up every hour or so to my husband snoring in my ear or my face. He says it’s because he has a cold, but he snores much more often than he doesn’t. He snores regardless of what position he lies in (on his side, back, stomach).

He’s 24, a little overweight but not obese, and doesn’t drink or take any medications.

there is NO over the caounter remedy that works for snoring.
I saw a device the other day, kind of like a mouthpiece you’d wear while playing football, that pulls your jaw slightly forward while you sleep, pulling your tongue from the back of your throat. If I’d have known about this BEFORE I had the UPPP surgery, it would have saved me about $3,000!!! I now have no uvula, but I don’t snore, nor do I have apnea any longer.

There are a number of reasons why you may snore.

* Age can be a factor. The older you get, the weaker your throat muscles become. Weak throat muscles cause the surrounding tissues to sag and vibrate.
* If you are overweight, your throat tissues are less firm and more inclined to vibrate when you breathe.

* When you sleep on your back, your tongue falls backwards into your throat which can narrow your airway and partly block airflow.

It keeps me awake every night until 12 am , and I go to bed at 9 or ten o clock. I’ve tried coming up earlier, but it’s just too early. I’ve tried earplugs and listening to music, but it still won’t block the sound. We do have a spare room but no bed as we’ve just moved in? Help ? Thanks

Have your partner see a doctor. There are some great treatments available.

Also, it may not eliminate it every time, but have him/her sleep on their side really helps.

Listen, stopping snoring is a lot more simple than what you’ve read.

I was a chronic snorer – and it was causing all kinds of problems with my girlfriend.
